Deities & Sacred Traditions

One sanctum, many traditions held together

Sri Badrakali presides at the centre — fierce, protective, and unusually facing West. Around her, the temple holds Shaiva, Vaishnava, Ganapatya, and Nāga worship as one integrated practice.

The spiritual nature of Sri Badrakali

Sri Badrakali represents the protective and transformative power of the Divine Mother. In the temple tradition she is the guardian of the family, the protector of Dharma, and the spiritual force that removes obstacles and restores balance — understood through the combined traditions of Shakti, Tantra, and Yoga.

The Sahasrāra

A thousand-petalled lotus, formed by centuries of pūjā

Near the principal sanctum, a thousand-petalled lotus formation has taken shape — one the family attributes to centuries of unbroken daily worship and offering. In Yogic and Tantric thought, this is the Sahasrāra: the thousand-petalled lotus that marks the highest state of consciousness, and a direct link to the temple's Yogishwara lineage.

Inherited manuscripts
